Virtual Private Servers (VPS)

Does your website have your shared hosting environment bursting at the seams? Would putting it on a dedicated server be overkill? Our Brisbane-based VPS hosting solutions can help you bridge the gap. Your high performance VPS is independent of other sites on the server so spikes in traffic won’t affect you, but by sharing the same physical server you can keep your costs down. You can run Windows, Linux, or any other operating system on a VPS, which means they’re completely customisable to your needs. You could use a VPS to host your WordPress or Joomla website or even your Minecraft server. And by running our VPSs on our award-winning, enterprise-class Australian data centres, you can rest assured that they’ll always be online and available, even when everyone else isn’t.

All of our shared packages are on the ATech cloud, which is optimised for high performance and reliability. We have 24x7 Australian monitoring to ensure that any issues are dealt with promptly. We restrict the number of sites that run on each virtual server, and continually adjust resource assignment to ensure that all of our clients have a premium experience.
The cloud allows resources to be used outside of the physical machines where they run. By using the cloud, the resources of our physical infrastructure (in large data centres) can be logically pooled together, then used to build “virtual private servers” (VPS). By building our VPS solutions in this way, we have the flexibility to increase our resources without having to worry about modifying or maxing-out individual physical servers, which not only allows for infinite scalability, it means downtime is practically a thing of the past.
There are three ways you can use these virtual private servers:
  1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a computing resource management model.
  2. Platform as a Service (PaaS) is a software development model.
  3. Software as a Service (SaaS) is an application delivery model.
Scalability works on a number of levels. While the cloud infrastructure is infinitely scalable, that doesn’t mean that a single VPS can handle unlimited demand. To get the highest level of performance and reliability for high-demand applications, multiple VPSs can be combined to run in a multi-tier configuration.
For example, with a mission-critical website the database could be on one server, the logic (PHP) on another, and the presentation resources (images, stylesheets, etc) served from a cache or CDN layer.
